Still the Same

If a rose was called,
By any other name,
Would it still be a rose?
If the moon was called,
By any other name,
Would it still be the moon?
Take away the name,
Give it another,
It shall still be the same.
Keep the name,
Take away the red petals,
Would it still be a rose?
Without the red petals,
No one would be able,
To recognised it as a rose,
Without the things,
Which doesn’t allow recognition,
Looked through as if,
It never existed.
Take away the glow,
Without the things,
Which makes the moon, a moon,
Hardly a second glance,
Would ever come its way.
Changing the name,
Makes no difference to what it is,
Changing the things,
Which defines them,
Losing the things which,
They are known for,
No longer,
What they were,
Anymore.
The end
The name is not the thing; a zen reflection.

The essence of who we are at our cores is way more important than how, or what the world perceives us as.
